Here is a week and a half in review from the students' perspectives. When asked what big events have occurred over the past few weeks these are the responses I got.
In special areas: "The successful 4th grade class has won the music award for first place (for behavior) this month" said Amber.
In writing we spent a lot of time working on transitions and "writing expository essays on our favorite subject and how drugs are bad for you." (Amber and Hunter)
In reading class Savannah said, "We read about (a silly dog named) Ike." While Cole pointed out that we learned about cause and effect and how to make a cause effect chart. We also had a Spelling Bee. Our first place winner was Hunter. Loren came in second and then Donnie finished third.
Science and Technology: Savannah responded by saying, "In science we (used baby soda bottles) to do some really fun experiments." In our learning center we got on the computers and Mrs. Riddle taught us how to make PowerPoint presentations. We used this skill in our science class to make our own "What am I" PowerPoints for part of our final assessment for our science unit.
In other news I was reminded by Cole that we should recognize, "Joshua S. (for being) awarded terrific kid of the week." Loren was extra excited that we were all able to, "buy things at the school book fair," that ended today.
